Leslie's Closet is Moving

Hi Friends,

After talking a a couple people (and by that I mean my sister and my best friend from college both asked me what I was doing with my blog) I have come up with a way to still be able to share my outfits with you guys despite my crazy schedule.  My solution involves moving Leslie's Closet from Blogger to Tumblr.  I will put up a more detailed post about why I'm switching on Leslie's Closet's new home but what you can take from this for now is that it means you'll get to see what I'm wearing again.

So please have faith and I hope you'll join me at

And just because I want you to leave here with a picture....

I'll have that outfit from today over on Tumblr tomorrow.

See you at Leslie's Closet's new home!

Long Time, No See

Hello there, everyone!

I know, it has been a really long time since an outfit has been posted.  I promise, I have been putting on real clothes everyday despite the fact that there is still snow on the ground and makes me want to stay in my pajamas all day.

Here a few iPhone photos of some of the things I've been wearing lately.

This was my "I have a sinus infection but can't miss a full day of classes" outfit.

My new favorite pair of Gap pants

An attempt to dress for spring and winter at the same time

At work, chilling with the Supermodelquins. We were so well coordinated.
I'm  hoping to be able to post on a more semi-regular basis again soon!

Enjoy the weekend!

Shoe Trend: Wedge Sneakers

I have been seeing wedge sneakers all over the place and decided to do some investigating.
By investigating I mean, Google searching "wedge sneakers" and looking at pictures like this...

At first I didn't really like the look of these shoes but that is probably because I am not a huge sneaker person.  Even causal non-athletic sneakers are not something I will wear unless I know I have a full shift at work.  Other than that I have to be in the mood to wear sneakers.  However, these wedge sneakers have been growing on me.  I'm temped to try them out.

I do fear that this is the type of trend that is too cool for me to pull off.  I am not 100% sure that my current wardrobe is compatible with wedge sneakers.  I'm going to have to do some more searching for outfits that can be worn with these shoes to see what my options would be but so far it looks like they can really be worn with anything; skinny jeans, cropped pants, skirts, shorts.  Here are a few images, pulled from Google, of different ways to wear wedge sneakers.

So, anyone participating in the wedge sneaker trend?  How are  you wearing them?

Double Collars

A) I feel as though all my outfits have been looking the same recently.  I need to find some style inspiration soon.
B) I get emails from J. Crew and in one that came in a few weeks ago there were tips for styling chambray button downs.  One of the tips was to wear your chambray over another button down with a pattern or one that is a bright solid color to get a pop of interest in the collar.  So I thought I'd try it out.  An added, unexpected bonus of wearing two button downs, it keeps you warmer than wearing just one.

Neon Fridays

I love the bright, obnoxious, neon orange color of this Gap sweater.  I also love that it was 40% off in the store.  I realize that it looks a bit more pink in these pictures than orange, but trust me, it is the best neon orange ever.  Nothing says Friday like neon orange.

Feeling French

I always feel a little bit French when I wear this scarf, especially when I pair it with stripes.  I originally had no idea what I was going to use to accessorize this outfit and had just given up and put on a small silver necklace.  But as I was leaving my room this morning I spotted this scarf hanging behind my door and I grabbed it.  This outfit needed a pop of color.  I recently found a chart on Pinterest that outlined how to dress like a Parisian.  If I were really going for a super French look I could have paired this with loafers or my oxfords but then my ankles would have been cold.  Actually, I'm not sure what a French woman would wear with this, she might not wear this at all.  Hmmmm..... I can at least pretend I've done the French proud.

Winter vs. Spring

It is so cold and windy today.  I'm not sure if you can tell from these pictures that I am freezing so if you can't let me just say, I was freezing when I took these.  I don't hate winter, don't get me wrong.  Snow can be so pretty and I love Christmas more than a sane person probably should but once January is close to being over I am ready to jump ahead to April.  I get really unmotivated after the New Year.  I know most people get these huge boots of energy to change things and work harder and make resolutions but longer is stays cold, the less productive I want to be.  It is terrible, I know, but just knowing that it is frigid outside makes me want to stay in my pjs all day and watch The Office on Netflix.  I need spring to come and kick my lazy butt back into gear.  Plus, seeing some leaves on the trees again is always nice.    On the bright side, these pants are way warmer than you would think.
